New meeting venue from September: why we're moving to The Fleece

The committee has agreed that from September the monthly meeting moves to The Fleece at Addingham.

The Old Bridge Inn has looked after us for eleven years and we leave on good terms. The problem is parking. What worked when twenty of us turned up on a wet Thursday does not work now. On a fine meet night members have been leaving cars halfway down the road, or turning round and going home. Neither is much of a welcome for a new member.

The Fleece has forty spaces of its own and a function room with a door on it, so we can hear the treasurer without shouting. The landlord runs a Triumph Stag, which gives him a healthy interest in keeping us happy. The pies are also better. That point was raised three times in the discussion and is minuted twice.

First meeting there is Thursday 17 September, 7.30pm as usual. The quiz trophy comes with us.
